We are waiting for your application until March 25!
If you are passionate about machining technologies and programming, take part in the prestigious competition organized by PZL-Świdnik! You have a unique opportunity to tackle real industry challenges by programming a three-axis CNC machine to process a bracket, which is part of the floor assembly.
You can participate if:

You are at least 18 years old

You are a student at a school in the Lublin Voivodeship
5 Steps You Need to Take:

Design the raw material – Present the appearance of the raw material before processing.

Develop a concept for part mounting on the machine – Design securing methods ensuring stability and precision.

Plan the technological process – Define processing stages, from raw material preparation to the finished product.
-
Select the tools – Choose appropriate machining tools based on material type.
-
Generate toolpaths – Prepare a CAM program to create precise toolpaths.
3 Types of Support You Will Receive:

3D model and 2D documentation of the part to be processed,
-
Information on machine parameters (spindle power, maximum rotations, and workspace dimensions),
-
Consultations with a PZL-Świdnik employee at every stage of the competition.
The competition is divided into two stages:

Stage I – Project development (April–May),
-
Stage II – Presentation of selected projects during the "Young Technicians Tournament" Festival at PZL-Świdnik.

Competition Process:

Registration: Interested participants must complete the application form available on the website by March 25, 2025.

Application Confirmation: After submitting the form, participants will receive an email confirmation of their application.

Etapy konkursu: Konkurs składa się z dwóch etapów:
-
Stage I – Participants prepare their projects and may receive support from a Mentor (teacher, parent, or legal guardian). At each stage, they may also consult with an employee of PZL-Świdnik. Projects must be submitted electronically by May 20, 2025, to the following address: konkurs@leonardo.com.
All submitted projects will be evaluated by a jury composed of PZL-Świdnik employees. -
Stage II – The best projects from Stage I will be selected to advance to Stage II. Qualified participants will be informed of the results by June 5, 2025. Stage II will take the form of project presentations during the "Young Technicians’ Tournament" Festival. The project may be presented by the participant or their Mentor. After the presentations, the jury will select the winners of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards.

Festival and Announcement of Results: The winners will be announced during the "Young Technicians’ Tournament" Festival, which will be open to the public. The exact date of the festival will be announced at a later time.

Visit to PZL-Świdnik: While preparing their projects, all participants will be invited to visit the PZL-Świdnik facility, where they will have the opportunity to see live machining processes and learn about the work of CNC programmers. The visit date will be arranged with the participants.

Competition Prizes: Participation in the competition is free of charge.
Competition Prizes:

1st Place – The first-place winner will receive an electric scooter and a unique opportunity to travel to Italy to visit the Leonardo manufacturing plant. The competition organizer will provide:

Round-trip airfare from Poland to Italy,
-
Hotel accommodation,
-
Meals (breakfast and dinner),
-
A tour of Leonardo’s headquarters, a leader in the aerospace industry, where participants will discover the latest technologies and gain insight into working at an international company.

2nd Place – The second-place winner will receive an electric scooter, a perfect and convenient means of everyday transportation.

3rd Place – The third-place winner will receive a smartwatch, a modern gadget to help manage time and monitor physical activity.
